Volunteer Opportunities (Retreats)
Casting Carolinas Volunteer Retreat Staff:
Core Retreat Staff: (all female -on site during the entire retreat)
Retreat Leader: Female angler with at least 5 years of experience teaching fly fishing; experienced leader capable of managing a core staff of 10-12, up to 12 additional volunteers and up to 20 participants at a 3 day or 1 day retreat.
Medical Facilitator: RN, MD or other medical professional capable of providing medical and health education for cancer survivors at retreats and who can provide first aid and assessment of participants.
Psychosocial Facilitator: licensed professional with at least 5 years of experience facilitating cancer/hospice support groups. Prefer those with training in mindfulness practice.
Casting Instructor: skilled fly angler with at least 3 years of teaching experience.
Participant Coordinator: contacts all applicants and facilitates their successful arrival at retreats.
Retreat Facilitators: responsible for making participants feel welcomed and for assisting the retreat leader in facilitating all aspects of the retreat.
Additional Retreat Staff: (male or female)
River Guide: For Three-Day retreats: Attends the entire third day of a Full Retreat or the entire day of a One-Day retreat. Experienced fly angler and teacher capable of working one-on-one with a cancer survivor who has most likely never fly fished.
River Runners: attend the entire third day of a Full Retreat or the entire day of a One-Day retreat to assist participants and volunteers on the water.

Casting Carolinas Planning Team
Join us at quarterly Planning Team meetings! Leadership positions include:
Fundraising Chair: Work with Team to plan and implement annual fundraising activities and events.
Outreach Chair: Work with Team to plan and implement outreach to all areas of NC and SC.
Tie One On Tournament: Work with the tournament planning team on all aspects of the tournament or just volunteer to work on the day of the tournament which includes all kinds of fun things like taking official measuring boards and measuring and recording the competitors fish!
