After a successful business career, Jim retired and tried his hand at art. In the process he learned that his best paintings were of things that he loved, such as trout streams, waterfalls, mountain vistas, and even landscapes of Tuscany and Provence.
When he transitioned from an amateur to a professional artist about 9 years ago, he decided to combine his art with his desire to “give back” to the community. So it was natural that he decided to donate the proceeds of his art sales to two non-profit organizations linked to trout fishing and the outdoors. They are:
–Casting Carolinas (formerly Casting for Recovery)
–NC Trout Unlimited Fly Fishing and Cold Water Conservation Youth Camp
He says, “While I get tremendous pleasure from creating paintings, I also am delighted to see the difference my art sales can make in these two wonderful programs.”
